3 day course
This highly effective and popular therapy is based on the traditional form of Champi (head massage) that has been practised in Indian for over 1,000 years. Treatment includes massage of the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp, face and energy balancing. Clients do not need to undress, no special equipment or oil is needed, making treatments highly mobile and accessible. A full treatment takes 30 minutes – shorter sessions are also popular, eg on-site in offices, at exhibitions, and pamper evenings.
Aims and structure
This comprehensive 3 day course provides students with the opportunity to achieve a professional standard in the art of Indian Head Massage and promote the confidence needed to work professionally and effectively with clients.
The syllabus includes
Practical Specialised techniques include effleurage, friction, kneading, percussion, compression and pressure points. New massage skills are taught each day, plus time to refine and consolidate techniques.
Theory Includes history, contra-indications, benefits, headaches, stress, client consultation, the use of oils, chakra energy and study of the relevant anatomy.
An attendance certificate is provided on completion of training which is usually sufficient to practise professionally (check with your insurance company). It is recommend that students achieve a diploma which requires 5 case studies (5 treatments each), a practical assessment and a theory paper (multiple choice – tick correct answers).
Who is eligible to attend?
Anyone may attend this course. It is an excellent introduction to working with holistic therapies.
